The subject of my installation is war. The war between Iraq and the USA and the history it is linked to have served as my inspiration. The faces of war change, the reasons for war change, but the suffering and oppression of innocent people remains unchanged. People become numb to news and they forget that war means death. In my work I've depicted the endless continuum of subjugation caused by war. I've used clothes and fabrics as my material. Clothes symbolise human life in my installation. Torn clothes become a factory-like rag rug with time. A person is lost somewhere in the depths of death and is forgotten. At this moment men, women and children are dying in wars. I don't think war will ever end.
Throughout my studies I have worked as a designer of corporate products, a maker of art postcards, and over three years as a freelance fashion journalist. Since February 2006 I have been a fashion reporter with the Kotiliesi magazine. Art is my passion. Courses in environmental art stole my heart filling an emptiness inside. I will continue to make art along with my regular work. What interest me most in art are social and political themes.
