5MM on enemmänkin graafinen kappale, sommitelma, kuin ergonomiaan keskittynyt tutkielma tuolista. Alkuvaikutelma siitä, että on vain rykelmä ohuita puikkoja nojaamassa metallikehikkoon, muuttuu tuolia lähemmin tarkasteltaessa. Puikoista syntyvät kaksi toisensa risteävää pintaa muodostavat istuimen ja selkänojan. Samalla syntyy tuolin jäykistävä rakenne. 5MM:n muoto elää katselukulmaa vaihtaessa kaksiulotteisesta silhuetista kolmiulotteiseen kappaleeseen. Liike vaikuttaa olennaisesti sen muotoon.

Materiaalit: 5 ja 8mm metallitanko, kumi, polttomaalaus

5MM is like a graphic composition or piece, rather than an ergonomic study of a chair. The first impression, which reminds of a bunch of thin needles leaning on a metal frame, changes when you get closer. The needles form two crossing surfaces, which make the seat and the back rest. These form the structure of a chair. From different perspectives the shape of 5MM seems to transform from a two-dimensional silhuet into a three-dimensional object. Movement and transformation ares thus an important elements of the 5MM chair.

Materials: 5 and 8mm metal tube, rubber, baked paint
