The sofa seat was designed in 1934. It is supported by a steel frame. The look and function of the sofa is meant to accommodate the modern home. It is streamlined and converts into a daybed or bed. As a sofa it accommodates up to three people. At time of its design, the seat sofa was meant to reflect the new developing technology.Le Corbusier wanted to create something that was lightweight, but that possesed a structure that was sophisticated enough to fit into the modern home.
