Taikamatto - The Magic Carpet Added by Haloo!

Taikamatto - The Magic Carpet is an interactive sound installation made by Haloo!, a work group of four.

Taikamatto - The Magic Carpet consists of a graphical floor surface (5x3 meters of floor sticker), a motion detection system (a camera and a computer programmed to detect the
data of movement) and a variety of sound samples for expressing motion. The participants of the installation - passers-by - can "play the floor" by moving on the carpet-like surface. This playful instrument is placed in relevant public spaces located on the daily routes of commuting and grocery shopping for example.

Taikamatto - The Magic Carpet was first displayed in the lobby of Ympyrätalo shopping center in Hakaniemi, Helsinki from the 24th to the 26th of November 2006.
