the Friend Drink Station is an rfid-enabled beer printer. At the picnic 06 and 07 conferences, you could take your rfid badge and a friend to the station, and use it to create a new friend (both on the picnic website and in real life). To celebrate your new friend, the station would print two drink tickets, valid only if you went to the bar together. The friend drink station was a project by mediamatic. Code was written by Andy Smith aka Termie, construction and design were by Willem Velthoven and Nadya Peek (me!).
