Marvelous Round Bag

I made this bag earlier this evening. It is a prototype and it turned out better than expected. It is gigantic.

Made out of black cotton -- the peacock feather printed fabric is from a vintage dress and I'm not sure of the fabric but it feels like a polyester blend.

The bag features and adjustable strap and when worn shortest it sits nicely under your arm, or it can be worn across the body sitting at the hip. It makes quite the statement.

Wool and Satin Pleated Prototype

I made this bag as a prototype for a line I am hoping to release in my shop for the A/W season. I really love pleats and the contrast between the bright satin and the grey wool blend turned out fantastic.

I lined this bag with a thin, soft cotton. It is a very beautiful fabric but it does not give the bag the structure I am going for. I also would like to put a pocket inside the bag and am considering an adustable shoulder strap instead of the two straps it features now.

I am planning on having a variety of colors of satin in the pleats and depending on what fabric I find, possibly some printed fabric as well. This bag was made with a wool blend and I am considering using 100% wool on the final product.

Pale Floral Pleated Handbag

This is the third pleated handbag I have made since the prototype. I have been using the original for about four months now and I have experience some tearing around the magnetic snap closure. Since the prototype I have rectified this problem with some heavy interfacing to reinforce the area around the snap -- so good so far!

This bag is suprisingly roomy and tucks neatly under your arm. I've been able to fill it with a sweater, sandals, water bottle, book, wallet, sunglasses, mobile -- it holds everything.

You can see this handbag and other versions of it on my website http://www.sammade.etsy.com
